We design your machines and plant components according to the highest technical standards – from the initial sketch to production-ready drawings, optimized for function, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
Our designers work closely with production – resulting in solutions that do not just work on paper.
We combine decades of engineering experience with state-of-the-art calculation methods for optimal technical results.
We design custom solutions tailored exactly to your production requirements.
Every good design begins with an understanding of the requirements. Our engineers engage intensively with your task: What forces and loads occur? What environmental conditions prevail? Which Spare Parts must be easy to replace later? From these requirements, we develop technical solutions that work in practice.
Using modern 3D CAD software, we create detailed digital models of your machines and components. We pay attention to design for manufacturing, optimal material utilization, and easy assembly. Critical components are secured through structural integrity calculations and FEA simulations – this avoids over-dimensioning and unnecessary costs while simultaneously guaranteeing the required operational safety.
The result is complete, production-ready design documentation with all necessary drawings, bills of materials, and technical specifications.
Not every production task can be solved with standard machines. If you have special requirements – whether it is the processing of unusual materials, special space conditions, or extraordinary performance parameters – we design the right solution for you. Our engineers are accustomed to thinking creatively and mastering technical challenges.
In doing so, we draw on our extensive wealth of experience: proven design principles are combined with innovative approaches. Where appropriate, we rely on standardized assemblies and components – this saves costs and simplifies the subsequent supply of Spare Parts. Where necessary, we develop completely new solutions that are tailored exactly to your application.
Which CAD software do you use?
We work with modern 3D CAD systems that meet current industry standards. Our designers use professional software for component design, assembly modeling, and drawing creation. This allows us to precisely model complex machine designs and generate all necessary manufacturing documentation.
Upon request, we can export design data in various common formats to ensure compatibility with your existing software. The exchange of CAD data with your partners or suppliers is also possible without any issues. If you have specific format requirements, simply contact us – we will find a solution for the data exchange.
Can you also make adjustments to existing designs?
Yes, this is one of our regular tasks. Existing machines often need to be adapted to new production requirements, modernized, or optimized for changed operating conditions. We analyze the existing design, identify potential for improvement, and develop appropriate adaptation solutions.
These can be minor modifications, such as replacing individual components with more wear-resistant materials, or more extensive conversions to increase performance. We ensure that the changes are economically viable and that as many existing components as possible can continue to be used. We can also perform adaptation designs for machines from other manufacturers.
Do you also perform structural integrity calculations?
Certainly. For safety-relevant or highly stressed components, we perform detailed structural integrity calculations. Using modern calculation methods and Finite Element Analysis (FEA), we analyze stress distributions, deformations, and safety factors under various load cases.
These calculations allow us to dimension components optimally – not too weak, but also not unnecessarily oversized. This saves material and costs without compromising safety. We document the calculation results in detail and can also provide them for certifications or approvals by testing organizations if required.
How long does a design project take?
The design duration depends heavily on the scope and complexity of the project. For smaller adaptation designs or individual components, we often only need a few days. Simple machine components are designed within 1-2 weeks, including all manufacturing drawings.
More complex machines or plants with many assemblies and custom solutions require 4-8 weeks of design time. For very extensive projects with complex calculations, simulations, or prototype phases, development can take several months. After the initial consultation, we can provide you with a realistic schedule and prioritize the design according to your deadlines.
Will I receive the complete CAD data?
That depends on the scope of the project. For the design of a complete plant or machine, you as the client will receive the relevant manufacturing documents: production-ready 2D drawings with dimensions, tolerances and surface specifications, as well as parts lists with material specifications. On request, we also provide 3D CAD models in a format of your choice, so that the documents can be used directly for production or passed on to external partners.
For wear parts and replacement components based on our many years of expertise, the design documents remain with KEK as a matter of principle. What exactly will be handed over within the scope of your project is something we are happy to clarify with you in advance.
