We plan and develop your production facility from the ground up – technically sophisticated, economically viable, and perfectly tailored to your individual requirements.
We do not just develop concepts, we also manufacture them ourselves – this makes our planning practical, feasible, and trimmed for efficiency.
Every production is different. We plan your plant exactly according to your requirements – from space utilization to throughput capacity.
From the first sketch through manufacturing to commissioning – you have a dedicated contact person for your entire project.
Every successful production facility begins with thorough planning. Our engineers analyze your requirements in detail: Which raw materials are to be processed? What throughput volumes are required? What spatial conditions are present? From this information, we develop a customized plant concept.
In doing so, we do not just consider the pure machine technology, but think through the entire production process. From material feeding and the actual processing to product discharge and storage – we plan every step so that your plant operates efficiently, safely, and economically.
Using state-of-the-art CAD software, we visualize your future production line as early as the planning phase. This allows you to see what your plant will look like at an early stage and gives you the opportunity to make adjustments before manufacturing begins.
The correct dimensioning of your plant is crucial for production success. Our engineers calculate precisely which machine sizes, drive power, and components are optimal for your specific requirements. In doing so, we incorporate our decades of experience from hundreds of realized projects.
We place particular emphasis on ensuring that your plant is not oversized – this saves investment and operating costs. At the same time, we plan for sufficient reserves so that you can easily implement future production increases.
For complex projects, we simulate the processes in advance and optimize critical parameters. This ensures you receive a plant that runs reliably from day one and delivers the required product qualities.
How does a planning project at KEK work?
A planning project always begins with a detailed initial consultation in which we record your requirements, goals, and framework conditions. Subsequently, our engineers create an initial concept with layout proposals and technical specifications. Following your approval, detailed development takes place with CAD drawings, performance calculations, and component selection.
You remain closely involved throughout the entire project – you receive regular updates and can request adjustments at any time. Once the planning is finalized, we hand over the documentation to our manufacturing department or coordinate the procurement of third-party components. Upon request, we also support the on-site installation and commissioning.
How long does it take to plan a production facility?
The planning duration depends heavily on the complexity of your project. For a single machine with standard integration, we generally require 2-4 weeks from the concept phase to the finished manufacturing documents. For complete production lines with multiple machines and extensive peripherals, please allow for 2-3 months.
Projects with special requirements that necessitate simulations or test runs are particularly time-consuming. In these cases, the planning phase can take 4-6 months. We will provide you with a detailed schedule after the initial consultation so that you can accurately calculate the subsequent steps. For urgent projects, we can also prioritize and accelerate the planning.
Can you also modernize existing production lines?
Absolutely, that is actually one of our core competencies. We analyze your existing plant, identify optimization potential, and develop concepts for performance enhancement or modernization. In doing so, we naturally take your existing machinery into account and plan new components so that they can be seamlessly integrated.
We can often achieve significant improvements through targeted expansions or the replacement of individual components without you having to invest in a completely new plant. We also check whether your existing machines from other manufacturers can be included in the planning – our goal is always the most economically sensible solution for you.
What information do you need from us for the planning?
For sound planning, we first require information regarding your production goals: Which raw materials do you process? What throughput volumes do you want to achieve? What are your operating hours? Additionally, information about the spatial conditions is important – ideally floor plans with dimensions, ceiling heights, and information on utility connections.
Quality requirements for your end product, special hygienic or technical regulations, and your budget are also relevant planning parameters. The more information you provide us, the more precisely we can plan. Do not worry if you do not have all the details ready – we will guide you through the process and help you determine the correct information.
Do you also include the complete infrastructure in the planning?
Yes, we think beyond pure machine technology. Upon request, our planning also includes the entire infrastructure: material flow systems, conveyor systems, silos, electrical supply, compressed air, extraction systems, and much more. We coordinate the various trades and ensure that all components interact optimally.
If necessary, we also work with specialized partners, for example for building planning, steel construction, or process control technology. This provides you with a complete solution from a single source – from floor plan planning to the turnkey production line. This saves you coordination effort and avoids interface problems.
